What documents can be apostilled?
Most documents that bear a signature of a government official can be apostilled by the relevant authority - these include notarized documents (i.e. legal agreements, passport photocopies sworn to be authentic, etc.), birth certificates, court documents, and background checks . For example, a birth certificate issued by the California DHCS can generally be apostilled by the State of California.
In the USA, documents from a city or county level agency may need to be authenticated by that county before being sent for state apostille. Please contact us first before mailing documents to us, if your document is not issued by a state official or the federal government.
